Join Our Artistic Team

How to join our team
- Complete the application form and send us a resume
and cover letter describing your experience and/or interest in working
with youth. Previous experience with youth is not required.
- We will call you to conduct a phone interview.
- If the interview goes well, we’ll invite you to
attend a training session where we will conduct a workshop just as we
do at a program site. This will give you an opportunity to experience
our work first-hand and participate in a Q & A afterward. If it
feels right to both of us, we will invite you to continue training in
our curriculum and methodology before joining a site team.
- You can elect to attend the 20 required training
sessions and 4 site visits, or you may choose to participate on a
limited basis as an occasional guest artist. Some pay for
training.
- You will be paid a stipend once you begin working at a program site. Stipends start at $80 per workshop.
- Once on a working site team, you will be working with
youth at least one afternoon a week, leading multidisciplinary arts
workshops that build toward a public performance and art show about
issues the kids choose to focus on. A ratio of at least one adult to
six children ensures individualized mentoring and attention.
