Varina
received her Masters in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education's
"Arts in Education" program, where she worked closely with the Hauser Center for
Nonprofit Organizations. She previously served as the Development Executive at The
Help Group and has over a decade of experience as a Teaching Artist with various
arts organizations in Los Angeles, supervising theatrical performances for underprivileged
teenagers, juvenile offenders, and psychiatric patients. Varina also brings to Inside
Out an extensive background in the film and television industry and during her years
in Hollywood she served as a development executive, producer and writer, working
with such companies as Warner Bros., Miramax, New Line, and NBC/Universal. Her experience
includes Senior Vice President at Weed Road Pictures; staff writer on the television
series "Eureka"; and Associate Producer on the film Mr. & Mrs.
Smith. Alongside Varina’s commitment to deeply and positively impact the future
of our youth, Varina is honored to be working with the extraordinary community that
is Inside Out.
Executive Director - Advancement
Alison Forbes has years of experience in fundraising, education, and the arts, and holds a Masters in Education with a focus on Arts in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Prior to coming to Inside Out, Alison was a Development and Sustainability consultant working with local nonprofits — including Inside Out. She was also the Development Officer for P.S. ARTS for over two years. As well, she has worked for many arts organizations including the Autry National Center, Fuller Museum, and Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Foundation. Alison also brings experience in social media, marketing, and website and app development acquired as co-founder of a home and lifestyle blog and co-author of a design book published by Random House. Alison is thrilled to be forwarding Inside Out’s mission of arts education to promote youth empowerment.|

Director of Arts & Education Programs
A resident of California for over twenty years, Lui Sanchez has established himself as an artist working in various mediums and fields throughout Los Angeles with professional and volunteer experience in developing, implementing and administering visual and performing arts projects and events. He received his BA in Theater at UC Santa Cruz and attended the Masters Program at the UCLA Film School. Lui is constantly on the roam to develop, participate and support the arts. His works includes producing short films, theater productions and art exhibitions as well as developing art curriculums for public and alternative schools.
Director of Arts & Education Programs responsibilities include: community relations and recruitment of participants and mentors; serving as a liaison between Inside Out and colleague organizations; coordinating transportation, child and parent surveys, calendars, court referral paperwork, in-kind program donations; generating press releases; overseeing volunteers; and maintaining communication with students and families. Other duties include: meetings with guidance counselors, teachers, and parents, overseeing Mentors, Artist Leaders and technical staff. The Director of Programs also handles logistics for field trips, retreats, and culminating performances.

Program Coordinator
Lauren comes to Inside
Out from Portland, Maine where she earned her BA in Studio Art & Entrepreneurial
Studies. Her artistic background includes a combination of exhibiting her own artwork
(painting, drawing, fashion, photography, mixed media), being a curator for group
and solo shows, and leading community art projects with at-risk refugee youth, mostly
from Somalia, Sudan, Cambodia and Vietnam. In theatre arts, she has been a wig and
make-up artist for the Stonehill College Theatre Company and loves to attend live
performances.
Lauren's position as the Program Coordinator involves supporting all processes of
program development and implementation. She believes strongly in youth advocacy
through creative endeavors and works to fully promote Inside Out's mission of enabling
the success of all participants.
Operations Manager
Stanley comes to us with a rich and varied history of applied technology, accounting and customer service. His prior experience working with Pacific Sunwear, 21st Century Programming, Phase Research, and his three-year tenure as Treasurer of a motorcycle club have made him a wonderful asset to the organization. Versed in many arenas he is an excellent solutions resource for the day-to-day issues that face any organization committed to providing the best possible community service at the lowest cost possible. Stanley also, quite simply, loves his job and working with the Inside Out community.
